Easy Mains Switch

Introduction

This project came about because I wanted to switch a 1000VA toroidal transformer, but my favourite mains switch is only a 3A single pole item. This circuit allows the low current switch to switch up to 12 amps of load (depending on the relays chosen) and also isolate both live and neutral. The relays are just standard FRM-1 pinout items with mains rated coil and SPCO contacts. I use RS Components part 200-1960 (CPC stock same item as SW01659) which has a 230V coil.
